This is my first Kastan that I purchased complete. It is a 1989 20" KEX Pro-S. The builder that I bought this off of
built this Kastan with new components, not mid-school components. When I first received this bike I replaced the bar with
Kastan bars and replaced the tires with Comp III black walls. Future replacements will include the rims, cranks, neck, rear
hub, and brakes.

This is my second Kastan in my collection. This Kastan is a 1989 KEX Pro and was a complete build up from the frame. I purchased
the frame off of E-bay and slowly pieced it together. All the parts that I have put on this bike with the exception of the
Comp III's is era correct within a couple of years. Parts breakdown Kastan frame/fork, Kastan bars, Flight 401 cranks, Araya
7X rims, Suntour rear flip flop hub, Odyssey Pitbull II brake, Dia Compe lever, Dyno GT neck, Dominator seat, and a generic
seat post.

Kastan #3 is a 1989 20" KEX Mini. I picked this frame up on Ebay about a year ago and have slowly been putting this together.
All that is left to install is the brakes. Parts breakdown Kastan 20" Expert Frame, Kastan 20" Expert Strut, Redline
bars, Dotek cranks, Ukai rims, Primo rear flip flop hub, DK mini neck, Velo mini seat and post.
Kastan #4, just completed on Aug. 5, 2006 this 1989 24" KEX Pro-S cruiser. I bought this frame off of Darren Chan and
completed it with parts that have been waiting exclusively for this build. Parts rundown... 24" Kastan KEX Pro-S Frame,
24" Kastan Strut w/Hub (NOS), DK Inverted Stem, 24" chrome Araya Rims, Odyssey Pitbull I Brakes, Redline Single
Pinch Flight Cranks, Redline Old Script 43 tooth chain wheel, Powerlite Bars, Shotgun I Seat and NOS Flight Pad Set (not shown).
Kastan number 5 is a custom build. This is the one and only in existence Kastan pit bike. I took a 1989 20" KEX Pro-S
and a 20" second edition Pro Strut and shipped it to Rod Miles in Georgia. After a few weeks this is what I got back.
Most of the work in the frame was kept to the rear triangle. The seat post tube was shortened 1" and the top tube was
left at the original length. The strut was shortened two inches taken from the bottom so as to look factory made. I also had
a set of mismatched single pinch Redline Flight cranks cut down to 160mm just for this bike. This bike is a blast to ride
and just like riding a 20" bike with 16" wheels. All the cuts were made at factory weld locations to keep the frame
rigid and have no possibility of cracking.
I would like to give a special thanks to Rod Miles for the exceptional work done to create this bike. For those of you
that would like to have a pit bike made or need any repairs, this guy is amazing. Check out Rods' work and prices (Prices
will vary) at http://www.vintagebmx.com/rodmiles.htm or e-mail him direct hotrod1ga@aol.com
